AutoCAD Civil 3D Drafter

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide CAD support for construction of pipeline and pipeline-related projects specific to the water and wastewater industry. This entails creating quad maps, alignments, and mapping for improvements to existing systems, as well as new construction projects. Assigned projects will vary in size and complexity and will be produced in an office team setting with Project Managers, Design Engineers, and other CAD Operators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes drafting projects related to pipeline construction using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Can read scope and client design guidelines to create effective drawing packages
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of basic land surveying
  • Creates plan and profile drawings from survey data
  • Can read and interpret survey notes required for pipeline mapping/modeling
  • Can work with and interpret survey station equations
  • Can work with aerial photography to set up alignments and mapping requests
  • Can review own work prior to lead or engineering review
  • Willingness to learn software programs including ArcMap, GIS, and WaterCAD
  • Participates in a variety of technical civil engineering work involving both field and office support (depending on workloads and/or group needs, may be assigned duties typical of other specific design related tasks)
  • Can demonstrate flexibility in work schedule based upon need

Working Conditions:

  •   Primarily an office setting.  May require periodic travel

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work at desk computer/phone system
  • Some light lifting may be involved (20-40 lbs)
  • Ability to drive to and from a job site
  • Must be able to hike easy to moderate terrain for occasional field work

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience using Civil 3D
  • Technical-related Associates degree preferred, however is not required if Civil 3D experience requirement is met
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to establish priorities, handle project assignments and work tasks with varying lead times
  • Must be able to multitask and quickly move from one assignment to another
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate both verbally and in technical writing
  • Experience in civil engineering/water and wastewater industry is strongly preferred
  • Organization and documentation skills, ability to perform research on specific subjects, programs such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Civil 3D experience in surfaces and grading tools

CAD Drafter

Job Description

 Permontes Group, Inc. is a growing civil engineering and land development firm located in Longmont, Colorado. Permontes routinely provides planning, engineering, permitting, and project management services for land development, pipeline, environmental, and oil/gas support service projects in Colorado and Nevada and is looking to expand our areas of expertise. In this period of growth, we are looking for an experienced CAD Drafter to join our team to provide design assistance and plan preparation and plan reviews.
Applicants must have a Associates degree in Drafting & Design, or closely related field and 3+ years of experience using Civil 3D and 3+ years of experience in site development including, road design, grading, and storm water design, water resources, infrastructure engineering, transportation engineering, or related area of practice.  Relevant experience includes computer modeling, preparation of engineering plans and specifications.  Qualified applicants will be able to complete challenging projects for multiple clients and is Time and Cost Driven.

Qualified candidates should be comfortable handling the following responsibilities:

  • Provide drafting and design support based on direction from Designers and Engineers.
    • Prepare redline revisions to drawings.
    • Observe and follow company CAD Standards.
    • Assist with quality control for drafting and reports.
    • Complete tasks efficiently within project schedule and budgets.
    • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare submittal packages.
    • Coordinates the collection of data and incorporates information into drawings.
    • Understand the project scope, assigned workload, and goals of the project as outlined in the project kick-off meeting and project plan.
    • Work effectively with other team members to produce quality drawings.
    • Communicate with Project Manager and other team members

Qualified candidates should have, at a minimum, the following qualifications and education requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Drafting and Design, or closely related field of study with applicable experience
  • 3+ years of engineering project experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Well organized , detail oriented and analytical
  • Time and Cost Driven

Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are a growing Civil Engineering Company based in Longmont, CO. We routinely provide planning, engineering, permitting, and project management services for land development, pipeline, environmental, and oil/gas support service projects in Colorado and Nevada. We are looking for an experienced Professional Engineer to join our team to support various Private and Public projects.

Applicants must have a BS in Civil Engineering, a P.E. License, and 5+ years of experience in municipal engineering, water and wastewater design, site development including, road design, grading, and storm water design, water resources, infrastructure engineering, transportation engineering, or related area of practice. Relevant experience includes client management, project management, computer modeling, preparation of engineering plans and specifications, and proposal writing. Candidates must have strong technical writing, client management, and communication skills. Qualified applicants will be able to complete challenging projects for multiple clients.
Qualified candidates should be comfortable handling the following responsibilities:
• Providing technical expertise including project supervision, design, and plan review
• Performing engineering calculations and preparing various reports
• Assisting in the quality control and review of plans, reports and calculations
• Communicating and coordinating effectively with staff, clients, subcontractors and permitting agencies
• Preparing project design and construction-related budgets, schedules, technical specifications and contract documents
Qualified candidates should have, at a minimum, the following qualifications and education:
• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 5+ of engineering experience in project management and land development design and permitting
• Experience in Colorado with site design, grading, drainage, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autoturn, and Bentley (Flowmaster, Storm & WaterCAD) products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Well organized , detail oriented and a strong work ethic
